Based on student experiences, an approximate sum of between EUR 300,- and EUR 450,- per month (excluding tuition fees!) has to be expected. Generally, life in Eastern Poland is cheaper than in Central and Western Poland.
The biggest part of the expenses is the rent. The cheapest alternatives are the student homes of the university. However the number of beds is limited; the application has to be done early at the appropriate student union. On the free market, the monthly rents for a studio (one room) are in range between EUR 90,- and EUR 150,-.
Currency:
1 złoty equals 100 groszy (gr). There are 5 notes: 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 zł. There are 9 coins:: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 & 50 groszy, and also 1, 2, & 5 złotych.
